Since 1992, RAC has developed the processes of Total Quality Institute (TQI) to help solve challenges directly related to the operational side of business. We view process improvement as a management philosophy—one that is strategically centered, management driven, customer focused, and employee supported.
Our approach is to build quality into the business and operating processes by removing variability and/or non-value steps, waste, or time depending upon the situation. Knowing that change is never easy and change for the sake of change is not productive, we focus on generating results. At times, through teams that work in the process, we may help create an entirely new process while at other times we help eliminate redundancies and bottlenecks. Each implementation is customized to the clients specific situation. We focus on creativity before capital or low cost/no cost solutions.
Our uniqueness lies in our implementation model:

During the evolution of the various stages of training, we witnessed a dramatic shift in attitude, spirit, and cooperation among associates. We received comments that affirmed that the participants were receiving a broader understanding of business issues and what they were learning helped them with daily life and family issues. Additionally, we recognized the bottom line improvement almost immediately with cost reductions of up to 40% allowing us to honor our commitment to not eliminate jobs due to "lean" improvements. - William L., President (extruded rubber products) During the past two years, you helped us "reinvent" the company by shaping a strategy for the future based on our markets and resources. Harnessing the talents and energies of our most important resources, our employees, we were able to utilize strategy to align our structure and clean up the "white spaces" in our business and production processes that provided significant impact on the bottom line. - Gordon, President (precast concrete technology) During past six years, your approach and organizational alignment model helped us shape a strategy and structure for the future based on our markets and resources. - Lisa Jane, CEO (supplier of paint pigments) The team was very enthusiastic about your leadership style and the way you engaged and motivated the cross-functional team. Your engaging style and mentoring not to accept the status quo, while also thinking outside of the box, is evident in the results achieved. In reviewing the methods and results from my personal perspective the mapping process for the current and ideal process really worked well. This resulted in a quick assessment, the effectiveness of the current program, and the identification of waste and the barriers to reaching the ideal process. The overall result was a new process that is very effective, is efficient, and has resulted in yearly savings of approximately $1.2M. - Paul W., CTO
